It's been a MINUTE! Life has been hectic between graduate school, managing and editing From Whispers to Roars submissions, and some family things.
Airports and airplanes make me think a lot, which I'm sure some of you have noticed.
So, sitting on an airplane, heading back to Cleveland for a less than fun occasion after a SHIT week, my mind wandered.
There was a moment of appreciation. A moment where all of the things I love sprang up, saying "life is beautiful." Because I'm a writer, this is what happened:
Things That Make Me Wild
-A sunny day, like it's happening just for me.
-Fireflies & Christmas lights
-A well-made taco
-Finding your way in a new city (being able to decipher the map)
-Standing under a really old tree
-Beer that tastes like home
-Bumping into an old friend unexpectedly
-Words strung together into beautiful sentences
-Dive-bars in small towns that are always full
-Hearing real laughter
-Watching a stranger play guitar or piano
-Not standing in line
-Meeting other humans who think a lot
-The sound of an espresso machine
-Sleeping with the window open
These are things I chase. Things that make even the worst of days better. Things that stir something deep in my soul, like they're always meant to be there (and maybe they were there all along). They are the only drugs that give me a high. They make me wild.
Wild (adj.): Uncontrolled or unrestrained, especially in pursuit of pleasure.
I leave you with this question.
What are the things that make you wild, and how are you going to chase them?
Share them with me in the comments, or across social media :)
